162 donated at May
blood drive here
Park Rapids has really demonstrated that it is a town with a heart by once again sponsoring a successful blood drive. The turn out on May 23, 24 and 25 was good with 211 people attempting to donate blood, 162 being able to give and 192 units collected.
Thirty donors donated on the automated 2RBC machine, which collects two units of blood at once. Eighteen gave for the first time. Sponsoring a blood drive is a very important responsibility in communities to ensure a safe and adequate blood supply.
Lloyd Schrum coordinated the drive sponsored by the Lions Club, which assisted with recruiting donors, publicizing the drive, providing refreshments and registering donors the day of the drive. Others who assisted with the drive were: Coborn's Grocery, Park Rapids Enterprise, DeLaHunt Broadcasting and Citizens National Bank. Space to hold the drive was provided at the American Legion.

Blood drives don't just happen. Hours of work are necessary to organize a successful blood drive, and many people have helped to make Park Rapids' community blood drive work well.
Blood is for sharing - you have truly given the "gift of life."
