BY Sarah smith ssmith@parkrapidsenterprise.com           A Laporte man who was charged in the 2013 murder of a Lake Hattie Township man has been re-indicted by a grand jury after murder charges were previously dismissed.      Fredrick William Bachman, 28, was charged in the death of Lake Hattie resort owner James Schwartzbauer, 57, whose body was found in the burned out rubble of his home on Beauty Lake in May 2013.      Bachman is now charged with First Degree Murder while committing a Felony; Second Degree Murder with Intent, Second Degree Manslaughter and First Degree Arson.      Bachman lived on and off at the resort until he bailed out of jail after the murder charge was dismissed. He is now living in the Twin Cities area.      He was then charged with child pornography, but those charged were dismissed, too. The county has appealed that dismissal. It involved pornographic images allegedly found on Bachman’s computer from 2009 to 2013.      The murder charges had been dismissed without prejudice Nov. 5, 2013, which meant the county could re-file them at any time.      The grand jury’s recent indictment was today, Dec. 19. It was unsealed Friday morning.      County District Judge Paul Rasmussen ruled that officers did not have sufficient evidence to search or seize Bachman’s computer, which allegedly contained the pornographic files, so that was the reason for that dismissal.      Schwartzbauer had been converting the resort to a religious retreat at the time of his death, with Bachman’s help. Hubbard County Attorney Don Dearstyne is out of the opffice until January and was unavailable for comment. Bachman is scheduled to make his initial appearance in Hubbard County District Court on Jan. 16.
