A 52-year-old Lake George man was arrested Thursday after about 220 growing marijuana plants and about 60 pounds of processed marijuana were seized on his property.
The Hubbard County Sheriff's Office, with assistance from investigators of the Cass County Sheriff's Office, executed search warrants Thursday at the man's residence located on the 36000 block of Hubbard County Road 4, according to a news release from the Hubbard County Sheriff's Office.
On Wednesday, a Hubbard County investigator received information from a female reporting that earlier, she and a relative were small game hunting along County Road 4 in an area south of Lake George, and they came upon several growing marijuana plants.
Before leaving, the two were approached by a male who began yelling at them to get off his property or he would have them arrested, according to the news release. Through conversation with others in the Lake George area, the hunters found out that the 52-year-old man owned the property, the news release states.
After receiving this information, investigators confirmed that the property was owned by the 52-year-old man. After more follow-up work, an application was made for a search warrant for the property.

Upon execution of the search warrant, investigators found numerous growing marijuana plants and, in plain view, numerous marijuana plants hanging, drying in an older barn, the news release states.
A second search warrant was then applied for, received and executed, resulting in the seizure of the numerous drying marijuana plants in the barn and also numerous growing purported marijuana plants, the news release states. Also in the home was processed purported marijuana located inside the freezer, according to the news release.
The news release states that the total seizure involved about 220 growing marijuana plants and about 60 pounds of processed marijuana.
The 52-year-old man was arrested and taken into custody. He is currently being held in Hubbard County Jail pending formal felony third-degree controlled substance charges, according to the news release.
