Masked royalty took their places during a virtual spirit week coronation ceremony this week at Park Rapids Area High School.
Crowned as the 2020-21 homecoming queen and king were seniors Cassidy Bera and Cole Ackerman.
Since the coronation was filmed an advance, extra care was taken not to spoil the surprise before the video went live Wednesday afternoon.
According to homecoming adviser Kerry Johnson, all six king and queen candidates were filmed being crowned, and the footage was edited to show who was really king and queen.
