The 2008 Park Rapids Jingle Bells Sweepstakes kicks off today (Saturday), Nov. 1.
Christmas shopping will be great in 2008, according to Katie Magozzi, Park Rapids Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce executive director.
Once again, Park Rapids area businesses say, "Happy Holidays." This year, six lucky Park Rapids area shoppers will win a total of $10,000 in cash at the gala prize- drawing event on Thursday, Dec. 18 at Century School in Park Rapids. There will be one $5,000 cash winner, plus five $1,000 cash winners. Additional drawings will take place for an array of prizes donated by area businesses.
All sectors of the business community are participating, including auto dealerships, banks, motels, restaurants, grocery stores and the media as well as service businesses, such as opticians, electricians and most retailers.
"Shop the store with jingle bells on the door" is the phrase that leads customers to locations where they earn chances at other prizes in addition to the six cash prizes.

Shoppers receive an entry with every minimum purchase of $10 at the participating businesses, up to a maximum of 40 tickets for a single purchase.
The more people visit Park Rapids businesses, the more chances there are to win.
The Jingle Bells promotion continues through Dec. 16.
Prize-drawing festivities start at 5 p.m. Dec. 18 at the Century School. The festivities include music, food and beverages. Santa will be on hand to take those last-minute requests.
Plus, merchants have added many additional door prizes just for those who attend.
All tickets must be turned in by the end of the business day on Tuesday, Dec. 16.
Following the drawing, all winning numbers and prizes will be posted at www.parkrapids.com , in the Park Rapids Enterprise, at participating merchants and at the Park Rapids Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce.
No numbers can be given out over the telephone. Winners need not be present to win the cash prizes.
