Jerome L. Felt, 60, of Sauk Rapids died Monday, July 3, 2006 at his home.
He was born June 21, 1946 to Harold and Leah (Hemmerling) Felt in Bottineau, ND. He attended school in Newberg and Notre Dame Academy in North Dakota. The family moved to Sebeka where he graduated from high school. He enlisted in the Marines and served in Vietnam from 1964 to 1968. He earned numerous medals of valor including multiple purple hearts.
He married Shirley Wattenhofer June 14, 1969 in Two Inlets. He was a professional truck driver until taking over the family farm near Sebeka. In 1987, he returned to trucking, working for Arfsten Transfer. In 1994, he moved to the St. Cloud area and worked as an owner/operator until 2000. He was currently a driver for Marson Contractors.
He is a member of the American Legion Post 456 in Sebeka and the Knights of Columbus. He has been the head of the Jaycees.
He is survived by three sons, Jeff (Johanna) of Os-age, Justin (Amy) of Pelican Rapids and Jerome (Angel) of Park Rapids; daughter, Jennifer (Scott) Ellingson of Avon; mother of West Fargo; two sisters, Carol (Tony) Cote of St. Cloud and Kathy (Lawrence) Prashek of West Fargo; brother, Virgil (Cathy) of Redwood Falls; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and a grand-son.
Mass of Christian Burial: Thursday, July 6 at St. Cloud Veteran's Administration Chapel with Rev. Al Stangl officiating.
Interment: Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Min-neapolis.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
