Janice Morganson, 87, died Jan. 8, 2008 at Diamond Willow Assisted Living Facility in Grand Rapids.
She was born Aug. 3, 1920 in Detroit Lakes to Alice and Ernest Christensen. She attended school in Detroit Lakes and Cass Lake, gradu-ating in 1939. She worked for her mom at Christy's Café, married, had two children and then moved to Lake George in 1948 where she owned and operated the Standard Station and Café.
In the fall of 1956 she mar-ried Alvin Morganson. They lived in Bemidji from 1962-68 returning to Lake George that spring. She be-came a postal clerk that year and the post master in 1978, retiring in 1985. In 2006 she moved to Grand Rapids.
Surviving are her hus-band of Bemidji; son, John (Kathy) Smith of Faribault; daughter, Becky (Dave) Christianson of Grand Rap-ids; two grandchildren; two great-grandsons and four great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Everett; sister, Ruby; granddaughter, Tanya and great-grandson, Justice.

Visitation: one hour prior to the services at the church.
Funeral: 4:30 p.m. today (Saturday) at Trinity Lu-theran Church in Lake George with Rev. Darwin Schauer officiating. The or-ganist will be Karen Lu-eth. The soloist will be Kent Dudley, who will sing "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beautiful Savior." The congregational hymn will be "What A friend We Have In Jesus."
Honorary casket bear-ers: Audrey and Victor Moen, Marj and Peter Lava-lier, Jeff and Mary Ann Miels, and Stu and Eileen Boelter.
Casket bearers: Lyle Zubke, Bill Lessman, Walt McAllister, Walter "Bud" Johannsen, Paul Mueller and Stan Docktor.
Interment: Lake George Cemetery in Lake George.
