Cody Johansen is back in Colorado helping out on his uncle’s farm.
His next rodeo will be the weekend of Aug. 1-2, when he will jump on a bucking bull and go at it again.
The 20-year-old was seriously hurt July 12 in Park Rapids at the Professional Bull Riders event. To clarify this, Cody said he wasn’t hurt any more than normal. But doctors have banned him from the PBR circuit for at least a couple weeks for a head injury.
He was airlifted July 12 to North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN., where he was comatose the first day of his stay there after getting bucked off a bull in Park Rapids and landing on his head. He was released two days later.
The August bull rides are not PBR events.
He cannot drive either.
He said he wants to get back to Minnesota to go fishing because he’d planned a trip last weekend but was sidelined by his injury.
