A motorist was killed Tuesday afternoon when the 1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass he or she was driving slid through an icy intersection and onto Highway 10 near New York Mills.
Information about the motorist, including name, age, gender and city of residence, is being withheld until Wednesday pending notification of family.
The northbound Cutlass was attempting to cross the eastbound lanes of Highway 10 when it was struck by a 2005 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Rodney R. Anderson, 42, of Ada. He was treated and released, according to the State Patrol.
The Cutlass failed to stop to allow the pickup truck to go by. The crash was reported at 12:05 p.m. on icy blacktop at the intersection of Highway 10 and Otter Tail County Road 84.
The Otter Tail County Sheriff's Department assisted at the scene.
