Hyatt House, a privately-owned residential assisted living facility, is celebrating its second year of operation with an expanded home at 309 Eastern Ave. So.
The "alternative to living alone" offers the comfortable amenities of home with personalized, supportive services and staff available on a 24-hour basis.
The facility is designed for older adults who need assistance with daily living - such as dressing, eating and bathing - but who do not require a nursing home, manager Annette Junes explained.
Meals are prepared in a central kitchen; fireplaces add a cozy, cordial ambience to the home. The shared dining room provides sociable mealtimes.
Wanda Magaard, the registered nurse on staff, is certified in gerontology. Medication administration is among the services provided at Hyatt House.

Clients may reside in private or semi-private rooms in the six-bedroom, four-bath, family-style home. Residents may bring familiar furniture from home or it will be provided.
Social and religious activities are on the agenda.
The large backyard will soon be home to landscaping and walking paths.
Hyatt House is currently accepting applications for residency. The facility is licensed by the Minnesota Department of Health and is registered as a Housing with Services establishment.
Financial assistance is available for those 55 years and older.
