The Clay County Sheriff's Office is investigating a home invasion in which two people tied the homeowner to a chair.
The homeowner reported the incident at about 9 p.m. Wednesday at 3770 80th St. S. in rural Sabin.
He told authorities he was confronted by two masked individuals outside of the farmhouse, Sheriff Bill Bergquist said.
The victim said the suspects bound him to a chair in the yard outside and then entered the house. While they were in the house, a car drove by and scared them off. They left the victim tied up, but he eventually managed to free himself and call authorities.
Bergquist said it's not believed to be a random act, and the case remains under investigation.

Nothing appeared to have been taken from the house, he said.
