Motorists on Highway 34 between Detroit Lakes and Osage will encounter occasional lane closures for a striping and rumble strip project. Work began Thursday, Sept. 19.
Crews are currently restriping the edge lines along the highway.
Starting Wednesday, Sept. 25, crews will install rumble strips in center of the roadway.
During both portions of the project, flaggers will direct traffic within the work zone. Drivers should slow down and prepare to stop as they approach a flagger.
Work is expected to be complete by the end of the month, weather permitting.
Centerline rumble strips help prevent head-on collisions and other cross-centerline crashes. The rumble strips are used to warn drivers whose vehicles are crossing the centerlines of two-lane, two-way roads.
