The woman who was later arrested was identified on surveillance that captured the burglary.

The case was later turned over to Beltrami County investigations, who worked with security officers with Minnesota Lottery. Investigators learned that the stolen lottery tickets had been cashed in at a convenience store in the city of Mahnomen in Mahnomen County and at a convenience store in Bagley.

Investigators retrieved video surveillance from the convenience stores that identified the male suspect as he cashed in the allegedly stolen lottery tickets.

Numerous search warrants have been executed in the investigation and items of the burglary have been recovered by the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office.

Assisting in the investigation is the Clearwater County Sheriff's Office, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Headwaters Safe Trails Federal Drug Task Force, Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force, Minnesota State Patrol, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
