Interstate 29 from Harwood to Argusville has been closed today to repair damage to the pavement caused by heat, which caused the road to expand and buckle.
The North Dakota Department of Transportation announced the closure this morning and set up a detour for traffic.
Motorists are being detoured to Cass County Road 81 while repairs are being made and advised to allow extra time to reach their destinations.
I-29 is expected to reopen to traffic later this afternoon, according to NDDOT officials.
