Hazel Esther Dennis, 69, of Park Rapids died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008 at St. Joseph's Area Health Services in Park Rapids.
She was born Dec. 6, 1938 to Archie and Marguerite (Comstock) Wright in Park Rapids. She attended Park Rapids schools. She worked for many years in restaurants in the Park Rapids area beginning at age 12 working for Squeak and Bill Bunness. She was baptized, confirmed and married at St. Johns Lutheran Church Park Rapids.
She married Patrick Dennis Aug. 28, 1954.
She was a member of the Park Rapids American Legion Auxiliary and the Park Rapids Area Hospice for many years, caring for many ill and aged friends and neighbors in their homes.
Surviving are her four daughters, Vickie (Dave) Ebaugh of Avon, Margie Dennis of Park Rapids, Tammy (Pat) Thomas of Nevis and Karen (Dean) Hanisch of Park Rapids; two brothers, Dick (Darlene) Condiff of Rockford, Ill. and Charles (JoAnn) Wright of Poplar, Wis.; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Patrick on Dec. 18, 2002 and special aunt Lulu Lightfoot.
Funeral service: Tuesday, Sept. 16 at St Johns Lutheran Church in Park Rapids with Rev. James Neubauer and Bill Neumann officiating.
Honorary casket bearers: The Otto Hendrickson American Legion Auxiliary.
Casket bearers: Joe Bracken, Kyle Thomas, Jack Churchill, Randy, Scott and Tim Leeseberg, Logan Hanisch and Chuck Dennis.
Interment: Lake Emma Cemetery.
