A 47-year-old Hayward woman is dead after being struck by a car on the Lac Court Oreilles Reservation, and another Hayward woman has been charged in the death.
Cynthia L. Gordon was struck while walking along County Road K in Bass Lake Township at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday. She died later in Hayward Hospital from injuries suffered in the crash.
Gina Trepanier, 26, has been charged in the death with homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle. Trepanier appeared Monday in Sawyer County Court and was released on a $100,000 signature bond. The Lac Court Oreilles Tribal Police Department is investigating the incident.
