Harry Morris Skorseth, 81, of Astoria, SD died Monday, Feb. 27, 2006 at the Sioux Falls Hospital.

He was born May 16, 1924 to Oluf and Kristina (Bakken) Skorseth in rural Park Rapids. He attended country schools near his home. At age 14, he began working for area farmers. In 1941, he moved to rural Canby and did farm work. In January 1948, he moved to Lake Cochrane and began to farm in partnership with his brother, Orville. They farmed together for 36 years. After retiring, he moved to Astoria. He continued to farm during the summer. From 1990 until the present he worked part time for Bob and Lori Michaels on their horse farm.

He is survived by a brother, Orville of Astoria; three sisters, Alvilda Johnston of Menahga, Olva (James) Stout and Edna Domholt, both of Park Rapids; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sis-ter, Clara Norlinger.

Funeral: Thursday, March 2 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Astoria with Rev. Carlene Rhody officiating.

Honorary casketbearers: Kermit Lundquist, Loren, Clinton and Duane Severson and Aldon Almos.

Active casketbearers: Chuck Brandenburg, Lyle, Paul and Kenneth Skorseth, David Rice and David Severson.

Interment: East Highland Cemetery in rural Brandt, SD.
