Led by career-best all-around scores by Kyja Pen-ning and Megan Lawrence, the Park Rapids-Nevis gymnastics team posted its highest score of the season at Detroit Lakes Tuesday night.
Penning's third-place 32.975 and Lawrence's fifth-place 30.50 in all-around led the Panthers to a runner-up 122.175 points in this triangular meet. Detroit Lakes took first with a 141.125 while Frazee was third with a 114.425. The 122.175 team score topped the Panthers' previous season high of 120.60.
Penning tied for fourth on uneven parallel bars with an 8.225 and was fifth on balance beam with an 8.35. An 8.25 in floor exercise and an 8.15 in vault rounded out her all-around score.
Lawrence used an 8.45 in vault, a 7.65 in floor, a 7.45 on beam and a 6.95 on bars for her all-around score.
Micah Richards finished sixth in all-around with a 29.975, led by an 8.25 in vault, an 8.125 in floor, a 7.15 on bars and a 6.45 on beam.

Annessa Feder was eighth in all-around with a 28.725. Feder received marks of 7.60 in vault, 7.40 on beam, 7.25 in floor and 6.475 on bars.
Emily Klingenberg also competed in all-around, using a 7.35 in vault, a 6.25 on beam, a 5.50 on bars and a 5.20 in floor for a 24.30.
The Panthers compiled a 32.45 in vault, a season-high 31.275 in floor, a season-high 29.65 on beam and a 28.80 on bars.
Park Rapids also finished second in the junior varsity meet with 85.30 points. Detroit Lakes took first with a 108.75 while Frazee was third with a 20.65.
Leading the Panthers in the JV meet were Emily Potts (6.50) and Kirsten Erickson (6.00) in floor; Jessica Andersen (4.85) and Erickson (4.25) on beam; Andersen (4.90) and Potts (4.80) on bars; and Jessica Petrie (6.80) and Potts (6.70) in vault. Andersen (21.95) and Potts (21.85) competed in all-around.
The Panthers travel to Long Prairie-Grey Eagle for a dual meet Tuesday and will compete at Bemidji Thursday night.
