A Grand Forks man was hospitalized Tuesday after crashing his motorcycle on North Columbia Road north of the county fairgrounds.
According to police, Matthew Mireault, 20, was driving a red 2009 Honda motorcycle north on Columbia Road, north of the intersection with Bacon Road, near the intersection of North Washington Street and Columbia Road about 7:30 p.m.
He lost control, the bike left the road, hit a driveway and came to rest in the ditch. Mireault was thrown from the bike. He was taken to Altru Hospital. A nursing supervisor said he would be spending the night but that his injuries are not life-threatening.
Police said the investigation into the accident isn't complete.
Grand Forks Police were assisted at the scene by Grand Forks Fire and paramedics from Altru Hospital.
