A Grand Forks man is accused of having sexual contact with a girl over the course of nine years.
Johnathan Vondal, 21, is charged with continual abuse of a child, a Class A felony with a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.
The victim, now 14 years old, told a detective Vondal began abusing her when she was 5 years old, the detective's report shows.
Vondal recently wrote a letter of apology to the girl, which was seized as evidence, the report states. He has a preliminary hearing set for Wednesday.
