A Grand Forks woman who was shot by her husband passed away Thursday at Altru Hospital, according to a nursing supervisor.
Julie Cordts, 47, was found unconscious and seriously wounded on the floor of a bedroom in her home Sept. 8. The body of 50-year-old Lyle Cordts, her husband, was found on the bed.
Investigators believe he killed himself with a single shot to his head after shooting Julie Cordts once in the head with a .22-caliber handgun. The investigation is ongoing, and no additional information on the case was available Saturday.
