The Hubbard County Board received two strategic planning proposals at their Sept. 8 work session.

The purpose of the document is to create a vision and strategy for the future of how Hubbard County plans to serve its constituents.

Myres Consulting Inc. of Clear Lake, Minn. and HueLife of Minneapolis each spent a half-hour pitching their consulting firms.

Brian Myres said his company would develop strategic imperatives with the county board and a leadership team that include actionable plans and benchmarks.

Based on a $200 per hourly rate, he estimated the total project cost to range between $8,000 and $10,000.

Richard Fursman from HueLife called a strategic plan “a living document.” He said they would set a three- to five-year vision for the county during a two-day retreat. Strategic goals would be specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely.

Fursman calculated that prep, facilitation and the final report would cost $8,500, plus travel-related expenses.

If the county board desires it, both firms said they could collect input from township supervisors and the public.

On Tuesday, the board accepted Myres Consulting’s proposal during their regular meeting.
