Hubbard County Emergency Manager Brian Halbasch was named 2019 Minnesota Emergency Manager of the Year.

“He’s a cross his t’s, dot his i’s kind of EM, as you know,” said County Sheriff Cory Aukes told the county board Tuesday, presenting Halbasch with the plaque from the Association of Minnesota Emergency Managers (AMEM).

Halbasch was nominated by one of his peers, Aukes said, and his application was voted on by an AMEM committee. “I’m very proud to say he received the award.”

Halbasch is very active with townships and managed the Camp Wilderness tornado shelter project, Aukes noted. “He does a great job.”
