This 1935 classic was the first fire truck used in the City of Nevis. At almost 85 years old, it needs the community’s help to restore it so it can take part in parades and continue as a proud symbol of the city’s past.

Nevis Fire Chief Chris Norton said they hope to obtain enough private donations to restore the truck without using any department funds. Anyone who wants to help with the project can send an email to or go to their Facebook page.

Norton said the fire department received enough donations at last weekend’s open house pancake breakfast to purchase 15 particulate hoods to help protect firefighters from cancer.

“With such a great turn out, we plan on making it an annual event,” he said.
