Georgia S. Horsman, 81, of Walker died Monday, May 28, 2007 at Golden Living Center in Walker.

She was born Jan. 23, 1926 to George and Clara (Hovelson) Byersdorfer in Walker. She graduated from Walker High School in 1944 and attended a year of teacher's training in Walker. Later, she attended Bemidji State College. She taught school at Boy River for two years and then taught a year and a half at Emily.

She married Ralph Horsman Aug. 19, 1950. They raised cattle and farmed on the original Byersdorfer family homestead in Turtle Lake Township for many years. She also worked at AhGwahChing from 1963 until 1982. Later, she moved to Highland Apartments in Walker.

She is survived by a sister, Gladys Norgard of Walker; two nephews, David Norgard of Los Angeles and George (Darnell) Dahly of Minneapolis; two nieces, Katrina Byersdorfer of Blaine and Carol (Buzz) Ahrens of Walker; several great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband in 1986; an infant son, George, in 1951; and two sisters, Theoline Dewey in 1939 and Martha Siltman in 1999.

Visitation: One hour prior to service.

Funeral: 11 a.m. today (Saturday) at Hope Lutheran Church in Walker.

Interment: Turtle Lake Cemetery.
