Larry Marquest Thomas, 32, of Frazee has been sentenced for felony third-degree assault.

According to court records:

On Nov. 17, 2006, Thomas entered the bathroom at the Sandbar, reached over the toilet stall and broke a beer mug over the head of a man using the stall. The victim was treated at St. Mary's emergency room and it required staples to close a 15 centimeter cut on his head. A warrant was issued for Thomas.

On Monday, he appeared before District Judge Peter Irvine, who sentenced him to 12 months and a day in prison, execution of sentence stayed five years. He was placed on supervised probation and ordered to serve 60 days in jail.

STS privileges were granted. He was fined $1,000 plus court fees and ordered to pay $2,939 in restitution.

A jail furlough was granted to attend treatment at the recommendation of his chemical use assessment.
