Frances Ruth Stearns, 85, of Osage, died Friday, Nov. 28, 2008 at Innovis Hospital in Fargo, N.D.
She was born Aug. 21, 1923 in Pensacola, Fla. to Rueben H. and Mary B. (McCleod) Massey. She grew up in Pensacola and attended and graduated from Steven's Catholic School. After graduation she went to work at Mayes Printing Co. in Pensacola. She married Warren Malcom Stearns on May 10, 1946 in Pensacola. They moved to Osage after the war and had four children.
She is survived by her husband, Warren, of Osage; four children: James (Linda), of West Fargo, N.D., Susan (Wayne) Odegaard, of Alexandria, Dorothy (Thomas) Larson, of Wyndmere, N.D., and Donna (Randy) Raeder, of Christine, N.D.; seven grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Lucille Stearns, of Ponsford, and Betty Massey, of Pensacola, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by siblings: Rueben Massey, Jean Singley and James Massey; brother-in-law, Boyd; and nephew, David.
Casket bearers: Chase, Cody and Randy Raeder, Matt and Wayne Odegaard, and Thomas Larson.

Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, Dec. 2 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Park Rapids, with Father Fr. Thomas Friedl as celebrant.
Interment: Linnell Cemetery, Osage.
