The father of a Hubbard County murder suspect has himself been arrested for murder.
Norman Allen Bachman was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder in the death of Toni Ann Bachman. He is the father of Fredrick Bachman, accused in a 2013 Lake Hattie murder. The elder Bachman is charged with killing Fred Bachman’s stepmother.
Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office arrested Norman Bachman and charged him with the death of a White Bear Township woman who hasn’t been heard from since April of 1997.
Toni Bachman, who was 38 when she disappeared, had apparently been emailing a friend about an argument she was having with her husband on April 25, 1997, but she was never seen again.
Fredrick Bachman was indicted by a grand jury late last year on a number of charges in the death of James Schwartzbauer in a house fire in Lake Hattie Township.
The grand jury returned indictments of First Degree Murder While Committing a Felony, Second Degree Murder with Intent, Second Degree Manslaughter and First Degree Arson.
Schwartzbauer, 53, was found in the rubble of his burned out home. His cause of death has been ruled as undetermined by the Ramsey County Coroner’s Office
That case is pending in Hubbard County. Schwartzbauer was converting his resort into a religious retreat and Fredrick Bachman was helping him at the time of Schwartzbauer’s death.
