A Forada man is in critical condition after falling 40 feet while trimming trees Saturday morning.
Here's what happened, according to a preliminary report filed at the Douglas County Sheriff's Office:
Joe Steinhagen was working from a scissor platform near Kluver Addition Road SE, Alexandria.
Another worker, Terry Pavek, also of Forada, was operating the equipment to raise the platform when Steinhagen shifted his weight.
The equipment, which was on a slope, overturned and Steinhagen was thrown off. He was taken to the Douglas County Hospital and later air-lifted to the Hennepin County Medical Center.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Steinhagen remained hospitalized in critical condition.
The incident happened shortly after 10 a.m.
