Foot chase ends in Bemidji arrest

A police pursuit that began Sunday on the Red Lake Indian Reservation in northwestern Minnesota ended with a foot chase and the arrest of a 22-year-old man in Bemidji.

A police pursuit that began Sunday on the Red Lake Indian Reservation in northwestern Minnesota ended with a foot chase and the arrest of a 22-year-old man in Bemidji.

According to the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office, Christopher Rossbach, Bemidji, fled Red Lake police and Minnesota State Patrol troopers about 3:45 p.m. Sunday in a car and ended up in Bemidji. Stopped by sheriff's deputies and others, Rossbach fled on foot and was quickly caught. He was booked into the Bemidji jail on charges relating to multiple arrest warrants, felony fleeing from police and assaulting a police officer.

Two deputies were treated and released from the North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji for "medical issues resulting from the pursuit," the sheriff's office said in a news release.
