Hubbard County Food Shelf director Dave Long reports $63,500 was donated during this year’s drive, with 31,200 pounds of food arriving to feed the area’s people in need.
This compares with last year’s figures of $64,700 in cash and 29,000 pounds of food.
Long attributes the increase in pounds of food donated to R.D. Offutt’s contributions.
The drive to raise funds and food continues through April, with the total amount determining the amount of the Feinstein grant. In the past, the grant has ranged from $800 to $2,000.
