Extensive fire damage was caused to a home north of Perham, on County Road 53, on Sunday.
Perham volunteer firefighters were on the scene from about 6:30 to 9 p.m., extinguishing a fire at the Kevin Delaney residence.
Cause of the fire is unknown, said Fire Chief Tracy Schmidt, but the flames were confined to about five feet surrounding a smokestack.
The damage was largely contained in the one room, which was evidently a garage that was converted to living space, said Schmidt.
A tanker from the Frazee Fire Department was called in for back-up.

The family was not displaced from the home, and were reportedly able to seal off the damaged room and continue living in the house, said Schmidt.
