Former Hubbard County Solid Waste Officer Vern Massie has filed for Hubbard county commissioner.
Massie, who retired last year, is running in District 1, so far against incumbent Kathy Grell, who also has filed.
In District 5 Cal Johannsen has filed to run again. So has Schoolcraft Township supervisor Ted VanKempen.
District 3 is still up for grabs. Commissioner Greg Larson, who many expect to retire, has not filed for his seat. He has not returned phone calls to the Enterprise indicating whether he’ll run again.
County Attorney Don Dearstyne, Sheriff Cory Aukes and Judge Paul Rasmussen have all filed for re-election without any opposition so far.
Filing closes June 3.
