A Fargo woman made her first court appearance after being accused of stealing lottery tickets from the business she was working at.
Michaela Peggi Anderson, 48, is charged with felony state lottery fraud and a gross misdemeanor charge of theft.
According to the report filed with Becker County District Court, officers were called to Lakes of Coffee and Liquor on Aug. 21 on a report of an employee stealing. Surveillance video showed Anderson stealing lottery tickets, alcohol, cigarettes, food and energy drinks. It also showed her playing the lottery tickets and then paying herself for the winnings.
Owners estimated the amount stolen to be nearly $700.
According to the report, when investigators questioned Anderson, she admitted to stealing the items and the lottery tickets.

If convicted she faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a $50,000 fine.
