A Fargo woman is scheduled to make her first appearance Aug. 16 in Becker County District Court on a felony charge of theft by swindle.
Shannon Lori Peterson, 39, of 822 1st St. North, Fargo, is accused of defrauding the owners of a Detroit Lakes apartment building while she was the resident manager there during June and July of 2010.
According to court records, Peterson is accused of not paying rent on the apartment she shared with her mother during a two-month period, and pro-rating other tenants' rent payments during the same period.
Peterson has a prior conviction for felony theft by false representation in July of 2007.
