A Fargo mother has been arrested after prosecutors allege she beat her husband with a toy while he was holding their child, threatened to shoot him and then assaulted her mother.
Chelsy Ann Graves, 26, was charged Wednesday with one count of terrorizing, a Class C felony, and two counts of simple domestic assault, an Class A misdemeanor. Court documents say officers were sent about 7:57 p.m. Monday to 3403 18th St. S. on a domestic disturbance call.
There, they discovered Graves, was standing on the front steps screaming at her mother, Tammy Hannesson, who had Graves’ two small children with her, court documents say.
According to the police report, Graves was belligerent and uncooperative with officers who tried to talk with her. They noticed a strong smell of alcohol coming, so they put her in the back of a squad car.
Her husband, Travis Graves, then came out of the house holding his stomach, the police report says.

He told officers he was holding one of the children when his wife attacked him with a plastic toy, breaking it over his head and telling him he deserved to die.
His head hurting, Travis Graves set the child down and slapped her, he reported. That’s when she hit him in the side, and he left the room to get away from her.
She followed him, he told officers, kicking him in the side, shoulder, neck, head and back, leaving him with injuries. When he grabbed the phone, his wife took it and threw it away, he told the police.
She allegedly told him she was going to get the keys to his gun cabinet and shoot and kill him and herself if she found the bullets.
He eventually got the phone back and called her mother. At some point, Chelsy Graves also allegedly hit Hannesson.
Chelsy Graves was taken Essentia Hospital, cleared medically and booked into the Cass County jail. Her bail was set at $500.
Her next court appearance is set for Aug. 20.
