Police say one man was knocked unconscious and another was hit with a baseball bat during a fight outside Chub's Pub around closing time today.
Officers responded to an assault reported at 1:52 a.m. in the parking lot of the bar at 421 N. University Dr.
The fight started when one party accused another of stealing a purse, Sgt. Mark Lykken said. One man was knocked unconscious, and a woman hit another man with a baseball bat. All parties refused medical attention, he said.
"Alcohol was obviously involved," he said.
No arrests were made, and police continue to investigate the incident, which involved eight people in their 20s and 30s, he said.
