A 57-year-old man was arrested Sunday afternoon after reportedly striking another golfer in the head with a sand wedge following an argument in the Rose Creek Golf Course parking lot.
Donald Sauvageau, 3014 20th St. S. in Fargo, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault - a felony - after police were called around 5 p.m. Sunday.
Authorities were called with a report of a man bleeding from the head. The victim, a 55-year-old Mapleton, N.D., man, was loaded into an ambulance, but Sgt. Ross Renner said he was unsure whether he was taken to a hospital.
Renner declined to identify the man, who he said was struck "in the head with a golf club" once.
The argument is believed to have begun in the parking lot of the golf course. Renner would not say what the argument was about.

Fargo Park District Executive Director Roger Gress said he was called at home Sunday night regarding the incident and was "absolutely shocked."
"My God, is that any different than taking a gun after somebody?" Gress said Monday, adding he has never heard of such an incident taking place in the past. "This is obviously a very serious situation."
Sauvageau has been banned from the property, Gress said.
"We're not going to deal with things like that," Gress said.
Gress said staff members were inside and did not see anything transpire, but became aware of it after an upset individual came into the Pro Shop and asked them to call 911. Police dispatch reports indicate the victim came in with injuries to the head.
There was blood on the concrete, and Gress said it is his understanding that something happened on the golf course and continued on into the parking lot.
He added he does not know details about the incident and is waiting for police reports regarding it.
Sauvageau had not been formally charged as of late Monday. He did not return a message left at the Cass County Jail.
