Elaine B. Lockrem, 83, of Park Rapids died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2006 at Southview Acres Care Center in West St. Paul of lung cancer.
Garland "Gar" O. Lockrem, 85, of Park Rapids died Sunday, May 21, 2006 in Minneapolis.
He was born and raised in Montana and attended Concordia College in Moorhead, where he and Elaine met. Following their marriage, service as a pilot with the US Army Air Corps and college graduation, they moved to Park Rapids, where he taught choir, band and art. Most of his career was spent in West St. Paul, where he conducted choirs, taught music theory and various art classes at Henry Sibley High School. The Sibley choir performed several times with the Minnesota Orchestra.
He was nominated three times as outstanding alumni of Concordia College. They retired to Bad Medicine Lake.
He is survived by two daughters, Terolle (Dale) Turnham and Jean (Terry) Gustafson; son, Eric (Geri Ann); six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife and daughter, Kristi.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church.
Joint Memorial Service: 1 p.m. Friday, June 23 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Park Rapids with Pastors Bill Meyer and Paul Magelssen officiating.
Interment: Bethel Lutheran Cemetery, rural Park Rapids.
Military honors will be held at the cemetery.
