East Grand Forks' girls and Perham's boys relied on talent and depth to claim team titles at Tuesday's Section 8AA True Team meet at Vern Weekley Field.
The True Team meet has each team enter two competitors in each event and one relay team. Everyone who finishes scores points.
In the girls meet, East Grand Forks won five events, but had both competitors place in the top 10 in 10 events in compiling 540 points. Detroit Lakes was second with 526.50 points while Park Rapids finished sixth with 325.50 points.
In the boys meet, Perham took first in five events and had both competitors place in the top 10 in eight events to lead the field with 520 points. Detroit Lakes was second with 474 points while Park Rapids finished 10th with 281.50 points.
Hannah Wolff had the Panthers' best showing in the girls meet by placing third in the triple jump with a distance of 32 feet, 6.25 inches. Laura Haug-land tied for fourth place in the high jump by clearing a height of 4-8 while Victoria Lutz finished fifth in the 800 run in 2:27.68.

"I thought we could have done better, but considering the competition we ended up where we should have," said Park Rapids head coach Cory Hill. "We had solid performances, but the competition was tough. We scored more points than last year against better competition. We're steadily improving and getting closer to the top teams."
Leading Park Rapids in the boys meet was Caleb Brown, who finished second in the pole vault with a height of 11-6. Brown also joined Nate Mack, Sean Hayes and David McAll-ister on the third-place 4 x 200 relay team, which clocked a 1:40.24.
"We finished last, but I thought individually we had a good day," said Park Rapids head coach Kenny Miller.
The Panthers will compete in the Mid-State Conference meet at Wadena Tuesday.
