East Grand Forks showcased why it is rated No. 2 in the latest state Class AA girls basketball poll with a 75-39 victory at Park Rapids Tuesday night.
The Green Wave led 48-22 at the half and used a 10-0 run to start the second half to build a 58-22 lead in improving to 5-0 on the season.
Mindy Lawrence hit two free throws and three field goals to lead the Panthers in the first half. Kayla Stursa hit a pair of jumpers while Hannah Wolff and Alyssa Carlson connected on back-to-back 3-pointers.
Carlson's pair of 3-pointers led the Panthers in the second half. Lawrence added two jumpers while Danielle Dent and Ashley Christenson chipped in a basket each.
Lawrence led the Panthers with 12 points while Carlson had 9. Stursa led the way with five rebounds, Dent and Wolff had two steals each, and Alyssa Klingenberg had two assists as the Panthers turned the ball over 27 times in falling to 0-4.
