$2,500 scholarships awarded
Sixty-five students enrolled in one of 40 high-demand programs at Minnesota State Community and Technical College have been awarded $2,500 scholarships for the 2021-22 academic year because of the Minnesota Legislature's support for the Workforce Development Scholarship program.
They include area students Madison Robbins of Nevis (surgical technology), Samuel Jackola of Osage (engineering) and Tayden George of Park Rapids (electrical line worker).
These scholarships, which can be renewed a second year for a total award of $5,000, target students pursuing careers in the fields of advanced manufacturing, agriculture, early childhood education, health care services, information technology and transportation. M State awards this academic year totaled more than $162,000.
