Nevis School’s graduation is open to the public with no mask requirement following the newest guidance from the Minnesota Department of Education updated guidance.
Tickets are no longer required either, with the normal capacity of 780 people allowed in Tiger Arena where the ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, since capacity restrictions for indoor venues have been removed by the state.
Although masks are not required, according to guidance from the Minnesota Department of Health, individuals who are not vaccinated should continue to wear a mask. It is recommended that anyone who has not been vaccinated remain in their family group and maintain six feet of distance from other households.
For the remainder of the school year, mask requirements only apply during the instructional day and while riding on school transportation. The requirements do not apply during after school activities, such as sports or other extracurriculars.
Since Wednesday’s kindergarten graduation takes place at 1:30 p.m., which is during the school day, masks will be required there under the Safe Learning Plan.
