The Homecoming 2020 spirit week will go on Sept. 21-25 at Park Rapids Area High School, even without a football game.
Dress-up days are as follows: PJ day on Monday; red, white and blue day on Tuesday; “Why do I own this?” Wednesday; camo, western and hat day on Thursday; and Panther Pride (orange and black) on Friday.
“We will have buttons for all high school staff and students provided by the student council,” said homecoming faculty sponsor Kerry Johnson. “We will also have a virtual coronation (that) will only involve the royal court and a few student council members.”
Johnson said the virtual coronation will likely go live at 3 p.m. Wednesday. No dance is planned, and no athletic contests are specifically tied with this year’s homecoming.
Royal attendants for the homecoming court include freshmen Grace Ackerman and Noah Morris, sophomores Haley Kerr and Caleb Arola, and juniors Jaime Brann and Kobe Burton.
Homecoming king candidates are Cole Ackerman, Tayden George and Tate Usher, and queen candidates are Cassidy Bera, Abby Kirlin and Ellie Gwiazdon.
