Katelyn Weaver is the February student of the month at Park Rapids Area High School.
Katelyn is the daughter of Tammy and Mike Weaver. She has been involved in volleyball as a captain, softball, choir and the National Honor Society. She plans to attend North Dakota State University and major in nursing.
Volleyball coach Christine Sauer said, “Kaitlyn was a great leader this past volleyball season. She’s a great kid and always willing to help others. As our 5-1 setter on varsity she was always willing to give her time, knowledge and heart to teaching the younger setters. Her leadership will be missed next season, but we know she will do great things!”
English teacher Kerry Johnson said, “I have always enjoyed having Katelyn in class. She's a hard worker in both academics and activities. She leads by example, and I appreciate that. I know she'll continue to do great things. Congrats!”
Softball coach Marion Goeden said, “Katelyn Weaver plays a pretty tough first base and is a large part of the success of the softball team over the last two years. Katelyn’s leadership isn’t loud or showy. Her leadership is a quiet and calm type of leadership. Katelyn was a senior captain in volleyball who wanted great things for her team. She has been very dedicated over the years, enhancing her skills as the team’s setter. Katelyn has a way of making things look easy while still pulling down some pretty amazing stats in both volleyball and softball.”
Business teacher Angie Kuehn said, “Katelyn is also a conscientious student. I currently have her in business computers, which is a college-level course. She works very efficiently and often has time to do extra work for extra credit. She is very deserving of this award.”
