Kristen Poehler’s second grade class partnered with Morgan Marcussen’s eighth graders for an introduction to robotics.

“We met for two days. Our first day was just meeting one another and seeing what the robots were capable of doing. On day two, Mrs. Marcussen’s class had different stations for the groups to discover and try – steering robot on a course, racing in the hallways, bowling and tag,” Poehler explained. “It was extremely exciting to watch the kids collaborate, mentor and figure puzzles out.”

She praised the eighth graders for doing “a fabulous job of modeling, questioning and working” with the younger students. The second graders, she added, “were quick to figure out how to code the robots and steer them the direction they wished. It was so fun to watch the kids explore and have fun while learning.”
