Fundraising has begun for the new Muskie Park playground equipment.

There is currently $12,860 in the fund, with the goal of reaching $100,000 to replace both of the old playsets with new ones by 2020.

One set will be designed for children ages 5-12, the other for children ages 2-5. The existing play equipment was installed in the early 1990s and has had several repairs over the years. “While it is safe to use, it is very outdated,” Nevis City Council member Sue Gray said. “We hope we can reach the $25,000 mark by the end of this year, as Hubbard County has additional matching funds if we reach that goal. The Nevis Lions Club has again generously agreed to be the fiscal agent for the playground.”

Donations for the new playground may be sent to the Nevis Lions Club, P.O. Box 74, Nevis, MN, 56467.
