Earth Day to be commemorated Tuesday at Itasca

On Tuesday, April 22, at ll:00 a.m. the White Earth Tribal Council and their community, supported by Friends of the Headwaters, will commemorate Earth Day at the Headwaters of the Mississippi in Itasca State Park.

On Tuesday, April 22, at ll:00 a.m. the White Earth Tribal Council and their community, supported by Friends of the Headwaters,  will commemorate Earth Day at the Headwaters of the Mississippi in Itasca State Park.

The tribal council has invited Friends of the Headwaters to participate in this occasion, and a Friends of the Headwaters member will be speaking about the history of Itasca State Park and about the mission we and the White Earth tribe share:  saving the Mississippi headwaters and lake country from the hazards presented by oil pipelines.
