DUI suspected in crash near Wolf Lake

Robert Williamson, 37, was airlifted to Fargo for treatment of serious injury after rolling his vehicle July 14 in Becker County.

A man was injured in a crash believed to be alcohol related on Wednesday, June 14 near Wolf Lake.

According to a media release from the Becker County Sheriff’s Office, a one-vehicle rollover with the driver ejected from the vehicle was reported at 5:49 p.m. on County Road 36 near 490th Avenue in Spruce Grove Township.

Emergency personnel from the BCSO, Wolf Lake Fire Department, Wolf Lake Rescue and North Memorial Ambulance responded to the scene, the release stated. Upon arrival, they found Robert Frank Orlando Williamson, 37, lying next to his vehicle, which was overturned in the middle of the roadway.

Williamson was transported first by ground ambulance, then by air to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo due to serious injury, the release stated.

Alcohol was believed to be a factor in the crash, the release stated, and charges are pending. The case remains under investigation.
