Duane James Corbin, 84, of Sebeka died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006 at his home from congestive heart failure.

He was born April 7, 1922 to Harry and Vora (James) Corbin in Holland, MN. He graduated from Sebeka High School in 1940. He worked on the family farm.

He married Ardyth Kasper Oct. 6, 1945. They purchased their current farm and he farmed for many years. He also worked as a carpenter, including the Iron Range and in Fridley after the tornado in 1965.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, James (Linda) of Hermantown, Gerald (Elke) of Albertville and Darrell (Janine) of Sebeka; four daughters, Connie Block and Donna (Chris) Dissmore, both of Menahga, Carol (Mark) Moeller of St. Paul and Grace (Robert) Kessler of Sebeka; sister, Veita Lou Corbin of Sebeka; 20 grand-children and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, Duane Block.

Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Wevley Funeral Home in Sebeka and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 19 at United Methodist Church in Sebeka with Pastor Loren Ferch officiating. Organist will be Jayne Koskiniemi, soloist Pastor Ferch will sing "Life's Railway to Heaven" and soloist Ray Seibert will sing "You are My Sunshine" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Congregational hymn will be "Amazing Grace."

Honorary casketbearers: His grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Active casketbearers: Grandsons, Shawn, Andy and Evan Corbin, Bryan and Jamey Moeller, T.J. Lehmkuhl, Bobby, Brandon and Adam Kessler.

Interment: Sebeka West Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to STORM Camp or Camp JIM.
